ACTIVITIES
- Standard procedure (std cycle):
- Plate identification
- Determination of the residue to be removed
- Removal of the gasket, either clip/snap type or glued
Removal of the gasket, either clip/snap type or glued - High-pressure washing of all plates (300 Bar), with hot water and detergent if necessary
- Plate washing in acid bath / rinsing / alkaline bath / passivation
- High-pressure washing/rinsing up to max 600 Bar to stress the plates and highlight any cracks or holes
- Removal of the glued gasket
Can be performed with a flame if the adhesive is a polymerized two-component, or by heating in an oven at 150°C followed by mechanical extraction. - Removal of all gasket and adhesive residues from the plate grooves using rotating nylon or brass brushes, depending on the plate material. Final cleaning with a solvent such as MEK or acetone.
- Inspection of the plate and gasket grooves to detect any deformations, corrosion, or holes.
- Penetrant testing of all plates (Wood’s method with UVA lamp)
- Low-pressure washing to remove the penetrant liquids
- Drying in a ventilated oven
- Re-gasketing with clip/snap type or with single- or two-component adhesive
Vulcanization in oven if necessary - Final inspection, removal of excess adhesive
- Packing on pallet with side protection and plastic film/wooden crate
- Drafting of the final technical report
